3-ingredient chocolate covered chia jam bites !

the simpler the better! at least in this case—using simple, whole ingredients is so much better for us and in this case, is so much easier!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 c. homemade chia jam

    • berries are rich in antioxidants + chia seeds are rich in fiber and promote heart health! check out our chia jam recipe to learn more.

  • 1 dark chocolate bar

    • you can use any chocolate you like, but we prefer dark as it has the most nutrients! when you buy quality dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, it can be quite nutritious. this includes: iron, fiber, magnesium, copper, and manganese. it is also said to promote skin + heart health and be high in antioxidants.

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

    • provides an immune system boost, reduces inflammation, and the MCFAs in the oil work as a natural antibiotic and has been know to aid in UTI symptoms and kidney infections.

other items needed:

  • Glad press’n’seal/parchment paper

  • freezer-safe container

  • microwave-safe bowl

INSTRUCTIONS

you’ll need to have your homemade chia jam prepped and ready for this recipe but don’t worry, that’s a super simple recipe too!

you’ll start by getting out your freezer safe container (we use the glass pyrex containers) and your cling wrap. line your freezer-safe container with the cling wrap.

next, grab a spoon and take a spoonful of the chia jam and place about a tbsp of it no top of the cling wrap inside of the freezer-safe container. repeat this process for as many tbsp-sized chia jam bites will fit in your container.

close your freezer-safe container and place in the freezer for 30min

in the last 5 minutes while your chia jam bites are freezing, place your chocolate bar (break it up) and 1 tbsp coconut oil into a microwave-safe bowl.

microwave for ~30-45 seconds. your chocolate will not be fully melted, but take it out of the microwave and stir it until it’s all combined and melted. it may need another 10 seconds but try not to microwave for too much longer as you will burn your chocolate.

once that’s done, take your frozen chia jam bites out of the freezer.

take each chia jam bite and dip it into the melted chocolate until it’s fully covered.

take it out and place it back in it’s spot in the freezer-safe container on top of the cling wrap. repeat this step for all of your chia jam bites.

place your now chocolate-covered chia jam bites back into the freezer for 1 hour.

once that hour is up, you have a healthier sweet treat option at the ready! be warned, they are addicting.
