easy sweet treat! —frozen chocolate orange bites—

a great snack to have on hand when that sweet craving hits! I have a pretty big sweet tooth and chocolate is my #1 so it’s nice to have options that satisfy me when that craving comes :) the only part that takes a little time is peeling all the oranges but once you’ve done that you’re set !

INGREDIENTS

Carbs

  • 5-10 oranges — mandarin, halos, or cuties (bite-sized)

  • 1 c. dark chocolate chips

Spice

  • salt : sprinkle on top if desired

INSTRUCTIONS

start by peeling all your oranges. then get out a freezer-safe plate or pan and lay out parchment paper over it.

separate the oranges into their individual slices and set aside. get your chocolate chips and place then in a microwave-safe bowl. microwave for 2 minutes—they won’t be fully melted yet, but grab a fork and mix the chocolate, it should continue to melt and combine.

place the orange slices in the melted chocolate and then place onto the parchment papered pan or plate.

*option to sprinkle sea salt onto the orange slices after you dip them in the melted chocolate.

once you’ve done this with all your oranges, place the plate (or pan, whichever you’re using) into the freezer and freeze for a minimum of 30 minutes.

take them out of the freezer, and separate them from the parchment paper.

taste test ;)

place the frozen slices in a freezer safe storage container (plastic ziplock or stasher bag will work). then place them back in the freezer and take out whenever you need a little sweet treat :)

we hope you enjoy ♥️
